Cooling tower functional equipment


The cooling tower functional components manufactured and commercialized by our company for new cooling towers or for refurbishing / revamping existing ones, of any type and capacity are: - fill, - water distribution systems, - nozzles, - drift eliminators, - support systems, - anti-frost protection systems, - ventilation systems (complete or components), - automatic temperature adjustment systems, - auxiliary equipment (pumps, vanes, etc.).

    • Cooling tower fill
      The general technical performances of the cooling towers are mainly influenced by the functional characteristics of the cooling tower fill used in the cooling systems. Romind T&G can deliver both film fill (R27) and splash fill (R80).     • Water distribution systems
      The water distribution in the cooling towers is made through distribution systems made of pipes, connecting elements at collecting gutters of the tower, reducers, caps, etc. The water distribution system represents the water transport route inside the cooling tower, on the irrigated surface of the tower. Depending on the technological scope (maintenance and repairs while the cooling tower is functioning, winter protection), it is made either a uniform water distribution on the whole surface of the tower or a uniform distribution on segments, functionally delimited.
    • Water dispersion devices
      The water dispersion devices - nozzles - for cooling towers are designed to fragment the fluid to be cooled (water) in drops with adequate grading and spreading area to the technological needs of these installations and to evenly distribute them on the irrigated area of the tower, if possible without splashing its constructive elements (beams, floor of the water distribution tank, inner wall of the funnel, etc.).     • Drift eliminators
      The drift eliminators retain the air actuated drops (drops generated by spreading the water in the dispersion devices) in counterflow and crossflow towers, with natural or forced draft. The drift eliminators usually retain drops larger than 50 microns. The small drops (under 10 microns), generated by water vapors condensation (fog from the tower's crest), are not retained by the drift eliminators.     • Support systems
      The support systems provided by Romind T & G are made in several variants adapted to different situations (beam pattern) of cooling towers. These systems contain metallic elements (galvanized or stainless steel) and/or GRP elements and provide the following functions: - supporting each type of equipment at its intended function within the tower; - take over additional tasks towards the intended functions of the operating equipment (ex.: tasks determined by surface clogging of the respective functional component); - minimum obstruction on the water and air passages through the tower; ...     • Frost protection systems
      By the nature of the physical processes occurring within the cooling towers, the towers are vulnerable to freezing in cold weather. Ice formations can cause functional and structural damage to the equipment inside the tower. Therefore, these facilities are usually provided with frost protection systems. If the cooling tower is rehabilitated, there are established either measures to improve the old frost protection system or to replace it with a new one.
