Insulating caps are protective equipment intended to cover the insulators of low voltage overhead lines (Un≤1kV), in dry weather conditions, during live working.
The insulating caps must be applied on the LV Overhead Line insulator, opening the cap in the lower area and placing its center on the insulator and its wings on the OHL conductor.
Insulating caps are made of red plasticised PVC, resistant to UV radiations.
